143 Days, 10 Hrs, 22 Mins

Or 6 months in layman's terms until the first day of the rest of my life - lot's of numbers that are effectively counting down until the launch of RCS Consulting. This is fantastic, slightly daunting but at last I am on the cusp of achieving a goal laid down in 1998; running my own consultancy business.

"Consultancy!" I hear you cry; "Pah - the expensive bauble of business, no place for it in this modern economically turbulent world".

And you may have a point - ineffective, poorly conceived and badly implemented projects have no place in any business. There are stories abound of the Management Consultant strolling majestically into a business, drawing a fat retainer and marching out untouched as the company folds and employees fill the cardboard boxes on their desks. I have been on both sides of that desk, in the Dot Com Crash in 2000, and let me tell you neither is much fun - either way your out of a job.

Anyway, that isn't the point of this weeks Blog, and how I arrived at the decision to trade a safe, stable, well paid job for a life of uncertainty became the simplest decision I have ever made will be explored in due course.

The point of this weeks Blog is a simple one - mark the date, acknowledge the impending change and look to the future.

I have 143 Days, 10 Hrs 9 Mins to bring this all to life, the planning, tech, finance, legal, the list goes on but every time I think of it I smile a big smile, It's going to be an awfully big adventure.
